Revision Chin surgery

Revision Chin surgery at Lannawadi Clinic

If the chin augmentation is crooked or tilted and the shape is not to your liking due to medical factors, you should quickly go and have the crooked chin corrected before the scar tissue grows too much and clings to the silicone, making it difficult to fix. This is because the doctor may have carved the silicone to the wrong size or the doctor may not have enough experience. MEDA

What causes a crooked chin?

1. A crooked chin since birth

A crooked chin from birth can be treated with a crooked chin surgery, which involves jaw surgery to reshape the jaw, because the patient was born with an asymmetrical lower jaw and some parts of the facial structure that are tilted outward.

2. Behaviors that cause a crooked chin

In addition, there are some behaviors that, if done for a long time until it becomes a habit, can cause a crooked chin. For example, resting your chin on the edge of a table, including sitting with your chin resting on your hand, are all causes of a crooked chin.

3. A crooked chin due to plastic surgery.

In fact, some people may have a crooked chin after cosmetic surgery. We can separate the causes into 2 parts: the crooked chin after cosmetic surgery due to medical factors, and the crooked chin after cosmetic surgery due to the patient himself.

What is a chin procedure?

Asymmetrical face is one of the factors that will result in a beautiful face. The “chin” is a component of the lower face, helping to create balance to the face, adjusting the overall face to be beautiful and proportionate. Chin surgery is the correction and decoration of a chin that is not in shape, such as a short chin, no chin, including correction of a chin from previous chin surgery. There are many forms of chin surgery. However, the best type of chin surgery depends on the patient’s needs and the doctor’s assessment of suitability as well.

Who is suitable for chin augmentation and chin correction

– People with short chins or receding chins who want to increase the length of their chin to match the tip of the nose and forehead.
– People who don’t have many chin problems
– Those who have had a chin augmentation and want to correct their chin to make it more beautiful and in line with their face.

Revision Chin surgery from chin filler injections

Chin filler injections or chin filler instead of chin augmentation surgery is an easy procedure that is not very painful. In some cases, there is no bruising or swelling, and no recovery time is required. In addition, the use of filler or chin filler shows results quickly. It is suitable for people who want to do it and notice the change immediately. It turns out that the use of filler or chin filler is popular and the number of users of filler is increasing each year.

However, safe and harmless fillers have a limited time. Patients may need to add more to maintain a beautiful, full face. However, it depends on the needs of each person. However, unsafe fillers can also be dangerous, such as causing inflammation in the chin area, infection, and deformity of the chin. In such cases, patients will have to scrape or undergo surgery to remove the filler, which causes repeated pain, wastes time, and costs more money if they want to fix their chin again.

Common problems that require chin correction

– Lumpy chin: This is often caused by people who have a lot of chin flesh or who may have had injections in the chin area before. If it has not been more than 3-6 months, it can shrink. However, if it has already exceeded this, it may be necessary to correct the chin by reducing the size of the chin silicone.
– The chin is too long or too pointed, the face shape and chin shape are not proportional. The chin can be corrected or the length and pointiness of the chin silicone can be reduced.
– If the chin is too short, it can be corrected by increasing the length of the silicone or by modifying the shape by carving additional silicone into the chin to make it narrower.
– Crooked chin: In cases where the chin needs to be corrected, this part requires a clear examination of the jawbone because the placement of silicone in the chin must be done on the bone. If the jawbone is very crooked, surgery to adjust the jawbone may be necessary as well.

Have you ever had liquid injections before chin augmentation or chin correction?

Secondary grade chin fillers, liquid silicone, bio-substances, or paraffin, when injected, these substances will penetrate or destroy the body’s tissues. Therefore, it is often found that those who inject these substances will have a chin that is swollen, red, dimpled, orange-peel, lumpy, both palpable and visible, or completely deformed. In addition, these substances also flow to under the chin or the jawline in some other people.
Removing them is a more difficult process because they cannot be injected and dissolved like real fillers. These substances must be surgically removed.

Preparation before Revision chin surgery

1. Eat nutritious foods and drink plenty of water.
2. Avoid taking supplements or medicines that have blood clotting properties. You must inform the medical team of the medications, supplements, and herbs that you are taking before your chin augmentation.
3. Eat a full meal before surgery because you usually cannot eat much after surgery
. 4. Brush your teeth and rinse your mouth thoroughly before surgery.

Self-care after chin correction

– After chin surgery, you should sleep with your head elevated for 2-3 days. You can sleep on your side to help reduce swelling quickly.
– After chin surgery, cold compresses should be applied directly to the area for 2-3 days. Cold compresses will help reduce swelling and reduce it more quickly.
– After chin correction with silicone, you should eat liquid or soft food that does not require much chewing to reduce the impact on the wound.
– Rinse your mouth with mouthwash or salt water every time after eating to prevent food particles from sticking to the wound, which helps prevent infection.
– There may be swelling and pain at the wound site for 3-4 days. However, if you feel unusually severe pain, you should immediately consult a doctor.
– After chin augmentation, patients should not eat spicy or strong-flavored foods or drink alcohol. They should also refrain from smoking for 7 days (to prevent excessive blood flow to the face, which will cause more swelling).
– After chin augmentation, you can brush your teeth, but be careful not to hit the chin wound with the brush.
– Be careful not to hit the chin area, especially during the first 3 weeks, such as sitting with your knees pushing your chin, avoiding eating foods that require chewing to prevent too much impact on the silicone, causing it to move. If you accidentally hit or are hit, contact your doctor immediately.
